Scott Urschel – BO 105 Helicopter – Cancelled Aug 27, 2024
Introducing the unparalleled thrill of our INVERTED helicopter experience! Observe gravity being defied as he soars through the skies in a breathtaking display of aerial acrobatics in a HELICOPTER!
Bringing us heart-pounding adventure like no other, Scott Urschel will be flying his Airbus MBB BO 105 at the 2024 CIAS. The BO 105 is a light, twin-engine, multi-purpose helicopter developed in West Germany. It was the first light twin-engine helicopter in the world, and one of the first rotorcraft that could perform aerobatic maneuvers such as loops and rolls. The BO 105 features a revolutionary hingeless rotor system, a pioneering innovation in helicopters when it was introduced into service in 1970. Airbus Helicopters reported that, worldwide, the BO 105 had accumulated 8 million flight hours, and that approximately 700 BO 105s remained in service. 34 countries have selected the BO-105 for military and paramilitary service.
Scott has over 30 years of worldwide aviation experience with more than 10,000 flight hours with 35 different makes and models of helicopters and more than 100 fixed wing aircraft. Scott is an active member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots (SETP) with airplane and helicopter flight test experience. He has flown envelope expansion, flight strain, handling qualities, function and reliability, and Night Vision Goggle (NVG) testing. In addition to flying nearly every helicopter made in the western world, Scott flies a wide variety of fixed wing aircraft such as the Citation Jets, Embraer Phenom 300, Lear 25, P-51D Mustang, Grumman FM2 Wildcat and the Curtiss P40. Scott is currently only one of two active airshow aerobatic helicopter pilots in the United States and we are excited for him to make his debut at the Canadian International Air Show this year.
