Gord Price & The Yak-50
The Yakovlev Yak-50 is a single seat all-metal low wing monoplane with retractable main wheels and exposed tail wheel. The Yak-50 has exceptional handling characteristics enhanced by a high power-to-weight ratio. The Yak-50 was used as a military trainer by Lithuanian, Russian, Soviet and Ukranian Air Forces. Gord Price, a former Royal Canadian Air Force fighter pilot and retired airline pilot flies the Yak-50 out of Billy Bishop Regional Airport in Owen Sound.
Gord is a Canadian Unlimited Aerobatic Champion and first flew at the CIAS in 1987. 2022 will be Gord’s final year performing at Airshows and we are thrilled to celebrate his retirement season with him. The Yak-50 is sponsored by The Dam Pub, located in Meaford, Ontario. A family run gastropub with over 1,000 whiskies it is definitely worth the drive to Meaford.
